I don't understand where you're going with this. Are you saying there wasn't enough people to build the tower of Babel, or that Nimrod's kingdom wasn't heavily populated? Either way I think 50 men would of been more than enough to build a tower.

Genesis 10 - How many can you count up who built the Tower of Babel from these names??
by hamsterbait ini am sitting looking at genesis 10.. this relates to the thread that the "tower of babel built by babies".. i reckon by counting the sons, and then counting at least one wife to carry the next generation of named sons we can arrive at a fairly accurate head count.. chapter 11 is also useful here as it gives the age of certain men when they had named sons.. for example seth was 100 when he fathered apaxad.
in the next 500 years he could not have fathered a total of 500 children, so we need a reasonable estimate.. some of the breed ing stock was 35 before producing a son (11:12).
bear in mind also that the shemite line had fertility issues so were not as profuse as other lines through ham or japheth.. i fail to get a total of much over 300 people and that is being generous.

It felt good to spend a day with a non JW gay! :)
by TimothyT infor those of you who are in the slightest bit interested, i thought i would give you an update into how my life is now panning out since i accepted my sexuality.. so, contrary to what the jws have counselled all these years, i found a guy on a dating website named jack, and started to get quite friendly with him through text messages and facebook!
it has now been 3 weeks.
yesterday... i met up with him!.

You just came out of the closet and you already found the perfect guy? When something sounds to good to be true, it usually isn't.

I'm Now A Member Of JwTalk.net.
by Philadelphia Ponos into my surprise my membership was approved for jwtalk.net, which is to my knowledge the only forum with "real" jws.
after reading through a few threads it appears that these jws believe in the watchtower 100% and i don't see any signs of doubt or borderline apostate comments like some other past pro-jw forums.
are any of you guys members of jwtalk.net and actively posting.

Jehovah's Witnesses Came To My Door Yesterday....
by Philadelphia Ponos in...but i didn't answer it for two reasons.
one, i wasn't fully clothed and two, i'm still debating whether or not i'll make my temporary return.
it would be weird if i accept or reject literature and two months later show up at the hall(which is right across the street) claiming to be baptized.

I certainly didn't want to tell them I've been "inactive" for nearly 4 years. I don't know why but for some reason I felt sorry for them. They're going door to door because they think they are honoring Jesus but in reaility they are just promoting a man made organization that diminishes the role of Christ and place themselves as leaders of the Christian faith. This was actually the first time Jehovah's Witnesses came to my door in 5 years, but I did recently move so maybe the witnesses in my old neighborhood were just slackers.

That article is a joke. "The average citizen of earth is wealthier and healthier", the gap between rich and poor increaed dramatically over the last few decades, you are the wealtheir if you are in the top 20% of world income. Also I don't get how people can be healthier when we now have a much higher rate of cancer and diabetes. "the Chinese liberalised", the government blocks YouTube in China, need I say more?
Here some stats to show just how ignorant the author is of world condition: 20% of the entire world's population live of less than $1.25 a day.
37% of the entire world's population lives of less than $2.00 a day.
80% of the entire world's population lives of less than $10.00 a day!($3,650.00/yr)
Every day 24,000 people die from hunger.
I'm not even going to get into all the war and violence that currently going on in the world. Who ever wrote that article needs to be put to death for being an ignorant asshole.

The real story about the tea party movement
by lifeisgood ini started this thread because some people are telling lies in another thread about the tea party.. i am one of the volunteers that helps arrange and put on tea party rallies in southern mississippi.
we do not have a membership roll.. we are not a political party.. we have one basic issue that we are addressing, which is: we want federal spending to be lower than federal revenues.
we do not say how this is to be achieved.. some liars on this site are claiming that the tea parties are actively pushing to achieve the balanced budget by cutting only liberal policies.

Question on Job 14: Does it support, or contradict, the idea of a resurrection?
by sir82 ina question for all the bible / jewish theology scholars out there..... the wt society has long championed job 14:13-15 as being the earliest reference to a resurrection.
here it is, quoted from the nwt:.
13 o that in she ol you would conceal me, that you would keep me secret until your anger turns back, that you would set a time limit for me and .

It apperas to me that verse 12 is making a reference to a resurrection.
